I like coming to welcome because no one judges me and I can talk to people with similar problems. The volunteers are very kind and understanding and are more like friends than staff."

A friendly place to meet if you are lonely, have mental illness, stress, or anxiety problems. We do crafts, play games, do gardening, have outings, sit and relax with a cup of coffee and chat."

I have been volunteering at Wellcome for nearly three years. It is a great place to be whether you are a volunteer or a client. There is no better forum in which to chat with others, play games or engage in craft activities. About once a month a nice hot lunch is served." Paul
I have been helping at Well-come as a volunteer for some time now and really enjoy it. I think I enjoy it as much as the clients do. I do feel we all have down times and having somewhere to go where there is someone to chat to is always helpful. I must say that even though depression is a symptom of most people who attend, none of them are ‘miserable’. Most join in the activities; there is no reason to be bored. We also have trips out which is always enjoyable. The most recent being a trip on the Norfolk broads."

I feel very pleased to have found Well-come being one of the few churches in Dereham to do hand-on work for folks with emotional health challenges.
I have found love and acceptance to which I am grateful for. I have grown as a person as I have been building up my experiences with people and situations.
I enjoy the various activities, playing word games and bingo, plus jigsaw puzzles, crafts, knitting, trips out to Gooderstone Water Garden and a boat trip on the broads.

Well-come is a good place to meet friends and do things together. We go on trips and I like to help with using the dishwasher and setting up the tables."
